UFC 99 weigh-ins: Germans get to see pushing and shoving
The UFC 99 weigh-in had a few scuffles but it wasn't from the guys you'd expect in Cologne, Germany. Even UFC VP Marc Ratner said he was surprised (16:25 mark) that Dan Hardy and Marcus Davis stayed composed. Both received a few boos. Davis came out with an Irish flag and looked to have some extra muscle on his frame (14:25 mark).
The undercard was dotted with a few shoving matches. Denis Stojnic got into 6-foot-8 Stefan Struve's face. When Struve got closer, Stojnic lost it and pushed the Dutchman (4:45 mark). It was even more heated when Paul Kelly and Roli Delgado did their stare down. Kelly got up in Delgado's grill, "The Crazy Cuban" didn't like it and shoved the Brit. Kelly told UFC officials, "he pushed me!" Kelly, who is dropping from 170 pounds, looked lean.
The main eventers Rich Franklin and Wanderlei Silva, both weighed in at 194. Silva was shredded. It's hard to see where he's going to lose the weight to eventually get to 185. During the staredown, Silva actually dropped his hands and put his head forward.
