Rampage Jackson talks about Arrest
September 2, 2008 by MMA moz
In this video interview with CBS, Rampage Jackson discusses some of the wacky goings-on in his mind around the time of his arrest, and does his best to explain it. You see, he didn’t think he was God. He thought he was a God. That is, until the police took the opportunity to be total jerks to him, thus reminding him that he was indeed mortal. Because a God wouldn’t have taken no lip off no cops.
The fact that it took the cops being assholes to him for Rampage to realize how crazy this all was is probably the strangest aspect of the story. He seems to have been genuinely affected by that. It’s got to be the first time in history that the cops did something good by mocking people in a vulnerable state who were in their custody. Also probably the last time.
Here’s the rambling, bizarre CBS interview, where Rampage details more potential mistreatment at the hands of the police and talks about what led to his eventual breakdown. He claims the police were calling their friends on their cell phones to brag that they had him in the car, while also “chastising” him for trying to preach to them. He also admits that he doesn’t completely remember what he was saying, and sounds at times like he might not be all the way back from his bout with delirium.

Rampage Jackson Arrested at Gunpoint!
July 16, 2008 by MMA moz
Former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson was today arrested in Costa Mesa, Calif., on suspicion of felony evading, hit-and-run and reckless driving, according to DailyPilot.com.
Jackson — who has a massive pick-up truck with his image plastered on various sides — apparently fled the scene of an accident and then continued to weave in and out of traffic and allude police, causing at least one more collision before coming to a stop.
Images show that his tire is absolutely shredded.
Here’s an account from DailyPilot:
“Jackson, the driver of a lifted, gray pick-up truck left crashed cars, shredded tires and sparks in his wake this afternoon when he led police on a short pursuit from the southbound 55 freeway exit onto Newport Boulevard where he hit at least three cars, police said.
The driver hit two cars at 19th Street and Newport Boulevard, then drove away at about 1:13 p.m., Lt. Paul Dondero said. A Costa Mesa police officer saw the driver southbound approaching 17th Street and tried to pull him over, police said. There, he hit at least one more car before continuing to run, now heading south toward the Balboa Peninsula, Dondero said. Some time after that, the truck blew a tire but continued to drive on its rims, Dondero said.
Jackson eventually gave up, pulled over and was arrested, police said. The whole chase lasted about five minutes, Dondero said.”
Fortunately, no one was injured throughout the incident. He is being held on $25,000 bail.
Jackson recently lost his 205-pound belt to Forrest Griffin via unanimous decision in a thrilling five-round battle at UFC 86: “Jackson vs. Griffin” at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, on July 5. The UFC is aware of his arrest; however, has not issued a statement at this time.
