Maia wants the title shot now
Anderson Silva speaks like he’s finished with the 185-pound division in the UFC. Between looking bored against Patrick Cote at UFC 90 and talking about a move to boxing, Silva doesn’t seem to have much respect for the crew in the UFC middleweight division. Those fighters are starting to lineup for a shot at "The Spider". The recent infusion of jiu-jitsu artists includes Demain Maia, who scored a big win last night over Chael Sonnen. He says he’s ready for a title shot but doesn’t know for sure that he would be facing Silva saying that Thales Leites has a shot at UFC 97. Maia thinks Silva still needs work on his game:
"He defends the takedown well, some kinds of takedowns (but) he’s dangerous. Even if I take him to the ground, he’s a very tough fighter."
