Kongo’s improving ground skills help him roll Hardonk

Cheick Kongo continues to thrive on the edge of the elite in the UFC's heavyweight division. He took out Antoni Hardonk with some dominant ground and pound. Hardonk more than held his own in a stand up battle for much of the opening round but then had a kick caught early in the second that lead to his demise. Once Kongo got on top in full guard, he smashed Hardnok with hammerfists and elbows. Hardonk finally turtled up and wouldn't answer the Kongo fists and elbows. The fight was stopped at 2:29 of the second.

Kongo, who was a one-dimensional stand-up fighter when he first entered the UFC, is now 7-2 with the promotion and ready for a fight against someone like Shane Carwin or Gabe Gonzaga.
