Frank Shamrock Training Camp Diary

Frank Shamrock is getting ready for his next battle – against Nick Diaz on April 11 to be televised live by Showtime from the Pavilion at San Jose, CA. Frank shares some info from his training camp this past week which is being held at the San Jose Athletic Club in downtown San Jose.

Monday: (Last week was a) great week that ended in some serious pain. While wrestling I popped four of my ribs off the rib cage. Hurt so bad! I was able to pop them back and with lotsa ice was able to box some rounds on Saturday. I love my job.

Tuesday: This is my favorite part: the last 30 days of training. I am in great cardio shape and ready to grind out some serious training. Had the best massage yesterday and getting ready for some evil workouts.

Wednesday: I had the best swimming and wrestling workout today. My coach is amazing and I am finally being a better student and learning so much. Can’t wait to see if Nick can take me down. I have never really worked much on the takedown defense so its exciting.

Thursday: Man, I don’t like swimming at all. It’s so good for you though and really gets my arms and shoulders burning. It will all be worth it when I am bouncing my fists off Nick’s head. I sure love me some MMA.

Frank Shamrock’s world titles include: King of Pancrase, UFC Middleweight champ, WEC Light Heavyweight champ, Strikeforce Middleweight champ. The Frank Shamrock-Nick Diaz press conference in Los Angeles on March 12 is open to the public. It will take place at the Avalon Hollywood located at Vine St. & Hollywood.

Frank also says his book MMA For Dummies is expected to be released in early April.
