EliteXC: Kimbo Slice vs Seth Petruzelli
EliteXC: Kimbo Slice vs. Seth Petruzelli
Round 1: Kimbo comes in and gets cracked with short right punch right away, then Seth mobs him with punches until the ref stops it!!! Seth Petruzelli “SHOCKS THE WORLD! THE MOST INCREDIBLE VICTORY IN THE HISTORY OF MIXED MARTIAL ARTS!” according to the anouncers – Yeah right…
Jared Shaw was screaming at the cage when Kimbo was getting pounded out. It looked like someone who bet his life savings on one horse screaming at a jockey. I wonder if it was directed at Kimbo “get up!” or the ref “don’t stop it!” Actually. Looking a little further at a different angle it is clear that he seemed to be yelling at the ref after the stopage also…
And so ends the great Kimbo Slice MMA experiment.
EliteXC is fucked.
And all of the real mma fighters that wanted to be the first to kick Kimbo’s ass are pissed…

RIP EliteXC
simultaneous ends to both Shamrock and Kimbo’s carear? Sweet dude.
EliteXC have at least one more show, Kimbo will get another fight but at least he won’t be headling the shows any more – that was a joke.
Frank Shamrock was talking smack about Ken so hopefully Frank will have the chance to kick his ass. Although I’m sure he could get a better fight out of just about anyone else at EliteXC.
I dunno why people are so anxious to see EliteXC fail. I understand that some of your favorite fighters may be in other, more successful organizations, but MMA needs competition. The last thing fighters and fans need is a Dana White monopoly. Sure, EliteXC does some dumb shit, Kimbo is far from the legend they try and make him out to be, but that was a straight up decent card, even for core mma fans. Not to mention the fact that it was FREE on live tv. I can sympathize with hoping a fighter like Kimbo, who is hyped way past his talent gets beaten, but I would like the organization to succeed. Hopefully the partnership with Affliction is successful for both promotions.
The problem a lot of people have with EliteXC is the way they built their entire promotion / marketing around a street fighter with no mma cred. Also Jared and Gary Shaw aren’t the most likable people in the world.
I agree competition is good for MMA, we get to see more fighters, more events and fighters should not feel like there is only way place to work in MMA, however no other start ups are showing much promise in making money to sustain themselves.
I thought the EliteXC card was great, most of the fights were entertaining. Kimbo should not have been headlining but the drama leading up to the event was nuts…
I hope we get to see Carano v Cyborg
