Credeur returns to his bread and butter … Larson mauls Sanders

Tim Credeur was labeled a limited fighter during his time on the Ultimate Fighter 7. The Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt was thought to possess little in the way of boxing. He’s worked hard on it and had finished two straight opponents in the UFC with his hands.

Nick Catone chose not to slug it out and tested himself on the ground against "Crazy" Tim. That turned out to be a crazy move as Credeur took him on a wild ride of submission attempts. Credeur worked several armbars and heel hooks throughout the opening round.

At the start of the second, the two fighters traded leather but it was sloppy work on both sides. When the fight went back to the mat, Credeur (12-2, 3-0 UFC) made sure to finish it. He caught Catone (6-1, 1-1 UFC) in another heel hook and when the former college wrestler freed himself, Credeur quickly got to his feet where he slapped on a guillotine choke. Catone had to tap at 3:45 of the second.

"I’m just working (on my game) as much as can. This is a life long dream fighting in the UFC, fighting for you fans. I’m a black belt, sometimes people forget. This white trash can get you in some serious danger."

In the next fight, Brock Larson in the UFC for the first time since 2006, pummeled Jesse Sanders.

Sanders tapped due to a rear-naked choke but it was really a combo of strikes and then a neck crank that finished the fight at 2:01 of the first round. Larson was way too experienced for Sanders. He scored a takedown by bull rushing Sanders eight seconds into the fight and clinching on the cage. Larson tossed Sanders down and fell into side control. From there, he quickly took his back and flattened him out. Larson then unleashed 47 punches, landing over half of them to soften up Sanders for the finish.

Larson is 25-2 and 2-1 in the UFC. His only loss with the promotion came against top five fighter Jon Fitch.
