Carlos Condit feels like he beat Martin Kampmann at UFC Fight Night 18

Quoteworthy:

“It was a tough fight. Kampmann did good stuff. He did well. I felt like I won the first and second rounds, but the second round was pretty close. You know … I left it to the judges decision, which is always risky…. I did more damage, but in this game I know as well as anybody else that the guy who stays on top the most gets the nod. And that was my bad for not pushing the pace and staying on top of him. But hats off to Martin … he did a fantastic job.”

Carlos Condit — the last man to hold the World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC) 170-pound title — shares his thoughts on the controversial result last night in the main event of UFC Fight Night 18: “Condit vs. Kampmann.” He dropped a very close split decision to Martin Kampmann in a great back-and-forth battle that should have earned “Fight of the Night” honors (somehow that award went to Tyson Griffin and Rafael Dos Anjos). It was a very close fight — the first for Condit inside the Octagon — which he realizes could have likely gone his way had he done things differently to sway the judges decisions. Did he do enough for you?
